We are Communicating

Whoever invented baby sign language gets an A+ in my book. Sarina now tells me when she's tired or hungry. She does the sign for "sleep," and if I don't pay attention fast enough, she grabs my hand and does the sign for sleep with my hand, too. And she does the "eating" sign roughly every 3 minutes... 'cause the girl likes her snacks!

She's a sign language whiz, I tell you. She knows: more, cereal, moon, stars, eating, hat, love, sleep, bib...

Her first birthday is so close now (March 2). I can't believe her baby year is almost over already. I'm not going to have a baby anymore... I'm going to have a toddler! I'm not ready for that!

But anyway... have some new pics. I hope they make you smile.

Thanks to Amanda and and Lisa McGrath for the great lounge set! Amanda made the pants and Lisa made the shirt.

  3. I know... it's funny to see her next to babies her age. She towers over them. I still have no idea how I ended up with such a huge baby, but it's endlessly amusing to me. :)

  5. Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos! She is way too cute! I know what you mean about losing your baby. Our oldest just turned 4 (I can't believe it) and she's already talking about how she's going to marry one of the Jonas Brothers. We are sooo in trouble!

    Happy signing!

  6. Yahoo! We LOVED baby sign language. In fact, we have clips of Samantha doing it and now that she's older, she loves watching her old self doing it. So, it pays now and later. I think what's so brilliant is that it's physical, you know? And if you didn't get to do it as a baby, you missed the thrill of language when it becomes physical. Enjoy every second! And toddlers are not so bad. All the mythology is lies, lies, lies. In fact, toddlers are really fun. You'll see.

  9. Great pics! Have to give you my .02 - we were big Pampers swaddlers fans and tried cruisers - liked them alright - but we love Huggies natural fit - seem softer and more contoured for walking babies... (saw the package in one of the pics)

  10. Amanda, I have high hopes for another baby someday, but it's not going to happen anytime soon. :(

Go-Go Mommy,Writermama, and Jo(e), thanks! I'll go pinch her cheeks for you when she wakes up.

Sara, I need some new Finn pics. Or video. :)

Tabitha, you read my mind again... I'm looking for more comfy diapers for her. Bought a giant case of Luvs and they're HORRIBLE for her. New slogan: "a blowout in every diaper!"

I hated Huggies when she was a newbie, but I like their Overnights, so I can't count out the whole brand. What I want to know is, in all these years of diaper manufacturing, how come none of them can really get it right? I got peed on through the diaper twice yesterday!
